I like to eat, workout, and take naps.

5 Things I Learned From My First Physique Show

Today I placed 4th in the Men’s Physique novice division at the IDFA 102 show. ┬áThis was the first competition I’ve ever done and I’m pretty happy with the results.

Overall it was a pretty good experience. After years of dirty bulking, I had bloated up to a chubby 220 lbs. Training and dieting for the show allowed me to see how much muscle I actually had underneath all of the fat. A big thanks to my coach Felix @coachfelixg for helping me prep!

Most of the time, I was thinking about ice cream, cookies and cake. Being carb-depleted triggered my sweet tooth and all I could think about was how much shit I was going to eat after the show was finally over.

Preparing for the show was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I learned a lot of important lessons about training and diet throughout my prep. Below is a list of 5 things I learned.

5 Things I Learned From My First Physique Show:

  1. You can’t out-train a bad diet
  2. You can’t out-train a bad diet
  3. You can workout twice a day and still not out-train a bad diet
  4. You can’t out-train a bad diet
  5. You can’t out-train a bad diet

I hope you’ll be able to use some of this wisdom to help you achieve your own goals.
